Hello from the PTO!
Welcome to the 21/22 school year! The PTO would like to thank the WAS families and staff that generously give their time to make our school great.
The PTO is a group of committed parent volunteers that sponsor a variety of school committees, some designed to raise money (for such things as enrichment programs, classroom needs, and field trips) and others designed to enhance your child’s learning experience. Both are essential in making Western Avenue School a very special place for our children to learn and grow.
The PTO makes money from fundraising. Our biggest event is the bi-annual consignment sale. The whole community comes to shop and it’s a great weekend. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we have not been able to hold our sale for several cycles. We do expect it to be back and better than ever in the future. Even though there will not be a fall sale, there are still other opportunities to give to the PTO. Choose us on AmazonSmile, collect box tops (electronically now!), participate in restaurant nights and more! We also accept donations via the WAS Webstore donation link. Please see the “committees” tab on the left to learn about the different options for participation within the school. If you would like to join one of our many committees, please use our SignUp Genius Link.
The PTO meets bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 7pm. Meetings are virtual until further notice, WAS Connects will send the link to everyone the day of the meeting. The agenda is published in the Western Weekly the week before and the minutes posted to this page after the meeting. Meetings are the best way to learn what’s new and have your voice heard. Parents are encouraged to join!
