On behalf of the PTO, we would like to welcome back all returning Western families and extend a very warm greeting to those who are joining us for the first time!  We are looking forward to another exciting school year!   The PTO would also like to thank the wonderful WAS families and staff that generously give their talent, energy, and effort to make our school great.  We invite all of you to look at what the PTO has to offer and get involved if you can!       

             

The PTO is a group of committed parent volunteers that sponsor a variety of school committees, some designed to raise money (for such things as enrichment programs, classroom needs, and field trips) and others designed to enhance your child’s learning experience. Both are essential in making Western Avenue School a very special place for our children to learn and grow.

             

The PTO generates income from our Fall Clothing Sale and Spring Duck, Duck Golf fundraisers creating many volunteer opportunities throughout the year.  Please see the attached committee summary to learn about the different options for participation within the school. PTO members will also be available near the front entrance on curriculum night Thursday, August 27th to answer any questions you may have.  Room Parent and party volunteer sign ups will be released with committee signups at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 28th!  As a reminder, only one grown up should signup for one party per student.  For example, a family can sign up for a total of 2 parties if a family has 2 students.

             

The PTO meets bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 7pm.  All meetings will be held in the LMC(Library). A WAS Connects reminder will be sent out the day of the meeting. Meetings are the best way to learn what’s new and have your voice heard. Parents are encouraged to join! 2026-2027 meeting dates: 9.8, 11.10, 1.12, 3.09, 5.11
