Community Engagement Report

The District recently completed the Inclusive Engagement portion of the Strategic Planning process and is excited to share the results of the feedback, discussions, and input provided by stakeholders throughout the Geneva 304 community. Below you will find a link to the report, along with the results of our community survey.  In addition, you will find a link to the video of the Board of Education meeting on Monday, February 26 where Dr. Harris of HYA Associates presented the results from the Inclusive Engagement phase.

As the District moves to Phase 3: Focus on the Future, a team of District leaders charged with facilitating the Strategic Planning process will analyze the findings, develop Vision and Mission statements, and develop a list of 3-5 strategic goals for the District. Additional information regarding this process will be shared at future Board of Education meetings with a formal draft of the Strategic Plan presented at the Board of Education's regular meeting on Monday, May 13.

Community Collaboration Opportunities

Below is an important video message from Superintendent Dr. Andy Barrett regarding two upcoming opportunities for community collaboration in our Strategic Planning Process.

We would like to invite you to share your perspectives by taking our strategic planning survey. This survey will be open to all district stakeholders through January 21, 2024, and we hope you'll take a few moments to provide your input.

In addition, if you have thoughts to share, you may contact us at [email protected].

NEW DATE: The Community Forum will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Geneva High School Auditorium.

Thank you for taking the time to consider sharing your thoughts and insights.  Please watch for additional communication as we continue to work through this process and refer to the strategic planning page on our website for additional information.
A Letter from Superintendent Dr. Andy Barrett - Tuesday, November 28, 2023
I am happy to share that we have begun the development of a comprehensive strategic plan designed to chart a course for the future of our District. Geneva 304 has a long Tradition of Excellence and a history of providing a high-quality education designed to help students become collaborative and productive citizens. With the initiation of this strategic planning process, we are acknowledging that tradition while also committing to a vision of continuous improvement and a goal of propelling our students to even greater heights.  To achieve these goals, we recognize the importance of a well-structured, community-driven strategic plan.

Key objectives of the strategic planning initiative include:

•    Improving educational opportunities and outcomes for students.
•    Enhancing community engagement through stakeholder input and participation.
•    Optimizing resource allocation while supporting high standards.
•    Fostering long-term academic and financial sustainability for the district.

The comprehensive strategic planning process is designed to engage District stakeholders, including parents, teachers, administrators, staff, students, and community residents in developing a shared vision for the future of our District. In the coming days you’ll learn more about the ways that we will invite all members of the community to participate in this process.

Through focus groups, community meetings, surveys, and other opportunities we plan to collaboratively shape the future of education in the Geneva School District 304. We know that we are at our best when we are working together, and we are excited to launch this inclusive strategic planning process focused on building a future for our District in which we can all believe.

Throughout this process we will continue to share important information about the Strategic Planning process, including opportunities for involvement and updates on progress. Community members can follow our Strategic Planning progress on this page.

Best,
Andrew J. Barrett, Ed.D.
