Who We Are

Heartland Elementary School is a K-5 building comprised of approximately 320 students and 60 staff members in Geneva, IL. Its doors originally opened in 2002; we are home to the Heartland Hawks, and our school spirit colors are blue and cream. We currently have three sections of kindergarten, two sections of first and second grades and three sections of third grade. We have two sections of fourth grade and three sections of fifth grade. We honor our district mission by creating self-directed, lifelong learners; effective communicators; complex, creative and adaptive thinkers; and collaborative and productive citizens. Our staff, parents and learning community hold high expectations for our students.

Heartland prides itself in its Hearts Full of Character program; we value character education and its importance in the development of children.  Each month we honor and celebrate these traits:

  • October- Caring
  • November- Respect
  • December- Responsibility
  • January- Honesty & Trust
  • February- Cooperation & Fairness
  • March- Citizenship
  • April & May- Pride

We also are extremely fortunate to have a fabulous PTO which partners with our school to provide endless opportunities for our students.  They provide social activities, learning opportunities and countless other events that engage our entire community.
