Who We Are

Heartland Elementary School is a K-5 building comprised of approximately 440 students and 80 staff members in Geneva, IL. Its doors originally opened in 2002; we are home to the Heartland Hawks, and our school spirit colors are green and cream. We currently have three sections each of kindergarten, first, second and third grades. We have four sections each of fourth and fifth grades. We honor our district mission by creating self-directed, lifelong learners; effective communicators; complex, creative and adaptive thinkers; and collaborative and productive citizens. Our staff, parents and learning community hold high expectations for our students.

Heartland prides itself in its Hearts Full of Character program; we value character education and its importance in the development of children.  Each month we honor and celebrate these traits:

  • October- Caring
  • November- Respect
  • December- Responsibility
  • January- Honesty & Trust
  • February- Cooperation & Fairness
  • March- Citizenship
  • April & May- Pride

We also are extremely fortunate to have a fabulous PTO which partners with our school to provide endless opportunities for our students.  They provide social activities, learning opportunities and countless other events that engage our entire community.
