Geneva Middle School North and South will be participating in a campus event to help support the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Their vision is to ensure that no veteran is left behind due to homelessness, joblessness, poverty, and/or mental-health issues. We are grateful for the service these individuals given us. The shelter, which is located in Wheaton, IL provides veterans and their families with housing and supportive services that lead to self-sufficiency.

Our schools will be collecting clothing and household items such as wash cloths, hand towels, bath towels sets, linens, personal products and cleaning supplies. A full list of items may be found on the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans website http://helpaveteran.org/.

Our collection will run through Veterans Day, next Friday. Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause. Items may be dropped off at Geneva Middle School North and South.

Today is 2nd quarter lunch table sign-up. When you get to the cafeteria, choose a table you would like to sit at for the duration of 2nd quarter.

Music students: Today is a Choir Day

From the Sports Desk:

Despite being the one year anniversary of the Cubs World Series Title, the 8th grade A basketball team couldn't work their magic against Thompson-Gold.  The boys fought back in the second half to cut it to 4, but couldn't seal the deal.  Tyler Bishop led the way with 10 points, and Tyler Costello and Owen Anderson each had solid performances.  The B team also couldn't drum up any magic in an effort to defeat Thompson-Gold.  But, it was a scrappy and exciting game. Nico Gonella was the Vikings defensive player of the game.

The 7th grade A basketball team was able to defeat St. Charles Haines last night by 13 points behind strong scoring from all players.  The B team played yet another really close game which went back and forth until falling to Haines in overtime by 2 points.  The teams will play Yorkville on Tuesday at Yorkville.
