6th graders:

The last round of auditions for the “The Snow White Variety Show” are tomorrow from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in the cafeteria. Any 6th graders that want to audition can still sign up today or tomorrow in the Main office or the 6Blue team center! Be sure to take an audition form and script excerpt. See Ms. Poppen in 6Blue or Mrs. Surgeon in 8Blue with any questions.

 

Intramurals will be starting soon and all students are invited to participate! The first two programs will be FLAG FOOTBALL beginning on Monday, Sept. 11th after school and SOFTBALL beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 12th after school. Permission slips and more information are available in the main office.

 

Attention piano, guitar, base, and drummers who've been preparing audition music for the GMS Jazz Bands.  There will be an optional review session in the band room at North tomorrow morning at 7:35.  Auditions for Jazz Band will be next week on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.  Sign up for a time on the white board in the band room.

 

Lunch table sign-ups for all three grade levels are today. When you go to lunch today, please pick a table you plan to at sit during the entire 1st quarter.

 

 The first Student Council meeting will be next Thursday at 8 a.m. in room 112.   Elections and activities for this year will be discussed.

 

 

Students, get your best smiles ready! School pictures are tomorrow!  Information and picture order forms were sent home in the mail on Tuesday.

 

 

From the Sports Desk: 

A big congratulations to the girls cross country team for their victory over Sycamore and Marengo! The top 6 runners from the meet were Kayla Stone taking first, Courtney Bach 5th, Elise Waldchen 6th, Abby McMillen 7th, Hannah McMillen 8th and Emma Pasquale 9th. The girls competed against over 40 runners. Great job girls!!

 

The boys cross country team defeated both Sycamore and Marengo last night.  Out of 79 runners Brady Ahern placed 1st, Mitchell Gratz was 3rd, Jack Schokora 4th, Wyatt Gross 6th, Jimmy Stolfe 8th and Bryce Williams 10th.  A special shout out to 6th graders Ben Lutzow and Liam Kelleghan for dramatically improving on their times from the first meet.

 

The 8th grade Volleyball team opened their season against St. Charles Thompson yesterday. The A team overcame their early nerves but were unable to pull out a victory. The B team surpassed all expectations. Sara Stedronski served well but ultimatelyThompson prevailed.

Come support the team tonight as they play at home against Kaneland!
