Intramurals are starting next week! FLAG FOOTBALL begins Monday, Sept. 11th after school and SOFTBALL begins Tuesday, Sept. 12th after school. Permission slips and more information are available in the main office.

 

The first Student Council meeting is tomorrow at 8 a.m. in room 112.   Elections and activities for this year will be discussed.

 

Geneva Middle School is sponsoring a community service project called Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, September, 16th. We will travel to Aurora to pack life-saving meals which will be distributed to starving children around the world. Our scheduled packing time is from 11:30 – 1:30 pm. If you are interested in participating, please pick up a permission slip in the main office. Bus transportation will be provided.

 

 

The library puzzle of the week winner is Luke Koster!  Luke, come down to the library to claim your prize. 

Also, congratulations to Lily Pierini for completing the first library coloring design of the year.

 

Do you like Art? Art Club has a brand new session starting on Monday, September 11th. All students are invited. Students will design their own projects and put on an Art show. Permission slips will be due on September 8th and are available in the Main Office.

 

 

From the Sports Desk: 

The Vikings played a very good DeKalb Huntley team last night. Chase Terwilliger and Ryan McAuliffe ran hard and led the ground attack.  Richard Lewis led the team in tackles.   There is no final score to report because there was a scoreboard malfunction but the Vikings did not win.  

 

The boys cross country team did exceptionally well against Kaneland last night sweeping the top 5 positions of the race in route to a perfect 15 points.  Top 5 finishers included Brady Ahern, Mitchell Gratz, Wyatt Gross, Jack Schokora and Colin Opdyke. 

Congratulations to the girls cross country team for the second win of the season against Kaneland. Kayla Stone took 1st, and Abby McMillen, Hannah McMillen, Elise Waldchen, Courtney Bach, Alex Powers, and Ceila Wolak swept 4th through 9th. Great races were run by 6th grade team members Peyton DeGrazia, Nora Mejia and Piper Rapinchuck. Great job to all our girl runners!
