From the Sports Desk:

The GMSS track teams played host to the Foxes of Yorkville last night. Viking athletes turned in solid individual and team performances.

The seventh grade girls track team had a great meet against Kaneland yesterday. The 4X100 relay teams comprised of Peyton Smith, Megan Gronberg, Ava Kruse, Hailey Puklin, Grace Pryor, Leli Chavada, Elise Waldchen and Hannah McMillen swept in for first place. Great job to all the girls yesterday!

The 7th grade boys had a big day at the track. The team was led by Jason Jerozal who won the 110 hurdles.

8th grade girls dominated the Foxes, led by Kayla Stone's epic performance in the 400 meter run. Gretchen Farrell improved her time in the 800 meter run by 7 seconds! Ava Heckenberg threw the discus 55 feet 1 in. Rebecca Riani and Maddie Dreyer excelled in their field events.

Finally, the 8th grade boys continued their domination of both the 1600 and 3200 meter relays. Tyler Tuisl, McClane Happold, Nathan Lehman, Jack Caston, Adam Drexler, Brady Ahern and Jack Schokora combined to open and close the meet with South victories.

Congratulations to all track athletes.
