8th grade girls who are interested in playing basketball at the high school next year can pick up an informational packet in the office.

8th Grade girls, are you Interested in giving girls lacrosse a try? Join current high school players and coaches after school on Wednesday, May 2nd from 4-6pm at the GMSS Soccer Fields for a clinic. No experience needed. We hope to see you and your friends there!

The GMSS track team had a meet last night against Thompson Middle School.

The 7th grade boys’ team put on a stellar performance. A big congratulations go out to Colin Opdyke, Charlie Morrison, Colin Hasty, and Mitchell Gratz for breaking the 4 by 800 meter relay. 

The 8th grade boys’ 4x800 meter team of Jack Schokora, Nathan Lehman, Brady Ahern and Sam Perez took first place to open the meet, and the 4x400 meter team of Carter Powelson, Tyler Tuisl, Jack Schokora and Jack Caston took first in the last race of the day. Great job, guys!

The 7th grade girls’ team also had a stellar performance against Thompson. Kayla Eichstaedt took 1st place in the mile, and Becca Spezzano, Erin Slagle, Peyton Smith, and Bella Walls took 1st place in the 4X200 relay.

The 8th grade girls track team really showed their team spirit last night. Many girls were asked to compete in new events to help the team. Good job to our distance runner Gretchen Farrell and our throwing power Ava Heckenberg. Kayla Stone placed second in the 400 and won the triple jump. Great job to Maddie Dreyer who placed 2nd in the long jump! Our sprinters Allison Romero, Mia McFadden, Maddie Dreyer continue to improve. Great job girls!
