Attention Dance Team: practice is cancelled for today.

 

The answer to last week’s Wheel of Fortune puzzle in the library was SMOOTH SAILING AHEAD. Congrats to the following winners: Lauren Stachowicz, Finn Long, Myla Giang, Erleta Zeqiri, Annabelle Beveridge, Mrs. Benhart, Mrs. Arnold and Mr. Sempsrott. Please pick up your prize in the library. 

 

Congratulations to Omar Mohamed and Victoria Jamieson. Their graphic novel about growing up in a Kenyan refugee camp, When Stars Are Scattered, is South's choice for the 2023 Rebecca Caudill Award. Will Illinois vote the same way? Stay tuned!  The following students won Shamrock shakes in a library drawing. Please come and collect your prize. Starting Wednesday, March 1st, help your team score a special treat during OT time by bringing in plastics that cannot be recycled at home, but can be recycled at facilities nearby.  This competition between teams will last for two weeks.  Look for posters in your team centers this week to see what items you can bring in.

The Geneva High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team will play in the Super-Sectional game at Schaumburg HS today (Monday, 2/27) at 7 pm. This is huge! If you can attend, help pack the Schaumburg HS gym with Geneva blue and white to support the high school team.

 

Spring athletics begin in March. 6th-8th grade boys volleyball tryouts will be held March 13-15 and 7th /8th grade boys’ and girls’ Track and Field practice begins on March 13. A current physical must be on file in the main office, and you must be registered online in order to participate.
