Starting today, help your team score a special treat during OT time by bringing in plastics that cannot be recycled at home, but can be recycled at facilities nearby.  This competition between teams will last for two weeks.  Look for posters in your team centers this week to see what items you can bring in.  

 

The next FCA meeting is at 7:45am tomorrow, March 2nd at South.  All are welcome to join us for faith, fun, fellowship, and donuts. We look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday.  


 

From the Sports Desk:

South’s 7th grade girls’ basketball B team played tough and united against North last night. They dominated 14-7 till North put on the full court pressure. North battled back into overtime. South was up again but in the final minute North banked in a shot. South took the last 2 drives but couldn’t quite finish, losing by just 1. 

In the third game of the series, the 7th grade girls A team sought revenge to take down Geneva north last night. The girls were led by Emma Petersons 11 points, Nora Hattons fiesty D, and Jazmine Reddicks stellar helpside defense. Great team win!

It is March and the 8th grade girls brought the madness last night. Hosting their campus rivals, the game was back and forth until Gianna Sala decide it was her time. Gianna scored 14 points just in the 4th quarter. She hit two 3's and went 6 for 6 from the free throw line.  The South Vikings went on to win by 5, sweeping the regular season series against North. 

 

Spring athletics begin in March. 6th-8th grade boys volleyball tryouts will be held March 13-15 and 7th /8th grade boys’ and girls’ Track and Field practice begins on March 13. A current physical must be on file in the main office, and you must be registered online in order to participate.
