From the Sports Desk:

7th/8th Girls’ basketball tryouts and 6th-8th dance team tryouts begin immediately following winter break. To participate in tryouts, you must have a valid physical on file in the main office and be registered online.

Both 8th grade boys’ basketball teams ended their regular season on a strong note last night.  For the A team, the game got tight at the end, but Ben Peterson helped the team prevail with 19 points, John Tweed knocked down some clutch free throws, and Mason Bruesch sealed the deal with a big steal to solidify an undefeated regular season.  On the other hand, it was pure domination for the B team. Lo Van Deusen had 10 points, Lucas Burghard was a beast in the post scoring 8, and Finn Tomko had another monster offensive game.  Come pack the house on Friday night for the conference tournament.  The B team plays at South while the A team is at North.

And in wrestling, the Vikings have been cooler than Miles Davis facing Aurora Washington last night. Jake “The Snake” Sarra led things off for the junior circuit with a major decision win, while Luke Myszkowski made things more complicated for his opponent than spelling his name. In the senior circuit, Joey Swanson folded his opponent up like a Swanson TV dinner, while Andrew Thomas was more dangerous than a bowling ball rolling downhill, putting on a sweet pin combination for his win. The Vikings face Sycamore Middle School after school today in our own gym, so come out and see them guys!!!
