The 6th Grade Viking Gamer Super Smash Bros. Tournament will take place from 3:30 to 5:20 today so come prepared for some tough opponents!

Help Student Council and Leo’s Club celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month with spirit week next week! Monday is “move it forward Monday”, wear your college, military, or vocational wear! Tuesday is “twin day” to resemble that you are not alone! Stay tuned for the rest of the week’s gear!

 

A reminder to staff and students that there are green recycling bins in the team centers for pens, pencils, markers, and glue sticks.  Please think before throwing these away and instead put them in the green recycling bins.  Feel free to bring any dried-up markers, pens and glue sticks from home too.

 

Music students today is a band/orchestra day!

 

Last night the Boys Volleyball Team took on Aurora Washington in a tough match. Varsity was led with outstanding net play from Brennan Vostal and Caiden Newcomb. Varsity also saw some standout defense from Gehrig Colgan and Jack VanCamp. JV saw a fantastic defensive effort from Noah Yung. Some impressive hits from Finn South and great serving from Finn Long and Noah Rosser helped JV put on an impressive performance. Mark your calendars for next Wednesday when South takes on North in the big showdown at the high school. 

 

The temperatures may still be cold, but your Geneva South track team continued to bring the heat last night against Geneva North, Jewel, and Jefferson Middle Schools. For the 7th grade girls, Lilly Hamilton turned in a personal best in the shot put and Emmy Kelly followed her example in the long jump. A special shout out goes to Ila Cunningham for stepping into the 4x400 relay at the last minute to help the team. For 8th grade girls, Alexis Weber cleared 4'6" in the high jump and Lola Garcia set a personal record in the triple jump. For 8th grade boys, Fynn Caston ran away from the pack in the 100-meter dash, Luke Kruse led the team in the discus with a throw of 78'9" and the 4x200 meter team of Harrison Tincher, Mason Hallbach, Lukas Costello and Fynn Caston led all teams.
