From the Sports Desk:

The 7th-gradeth grade girls' volleyball teams had an intense showing against Herget this past Tuesday that ended in a well-earned double-W!

The games for 7A were nail-biters, but the Vikes took it 26-24 in the first game and 25-21 in the second. Teagan Lee, Emma Peterson, and Brooke Lyles sent some powerful and unreturnable serves over in the net. Evie Oliva and Natalija Gaikis played fantastic defense, ensuring the Vikes' victory.

Mara Ternberg played vicious defense with Bea Millard supporting the team as a force at the net. Sophia Jones, Indie Ogden, and Harper Kobbeman dominated Herget with some amazing serves. Way to go, girls!

Last night, the Geneva Middle School Viking football team took on Jefferson Middle School under the lights at Burgess field in their final conference game of the season. Quarterback Ben Peterson continued his dominance of opposing defenses, throwing three touchdown passes to Nelson Wendell, Lincoln Mercado and Noah Hallahan and adding another on the ground. Back up QB Timothy Joy got in on the action, adding a 25 yard td run of his own in the second half and Tate Beran contributed another score on the ground. Defensively, Luke Ignoffo picked off two passes, running one back for a score and Jake McCastland returned a punt within feet of the endzone to set up another Viking score. When the dust settled, the Vikings walked away with a 50-0 victory, sealing their perfect conference record.
