The 8th grade girls volleyball team started their season off with a thundering sweep of the Jefferson Jayhawks with both the A and B teams winning in two matches. Last night, the Geneva Middle School Viking varsity football team continued its winning ways on the road against the Huskies from Herget Middle School.  The Vikings were in control from the opening whistle. After Alex Abraham recovered a strip-sack for the defense, Tate Beran ran for a 65-yard score on the first offensive play of the game. Quarterback Ben Peterson connected with tight end Lincoln Mercado for a second score, and scrambled for a third, and the Vikings led 22-0 at half. After the break, Ben Raby rambled for a 67-yard rushing score and the Viking defense took it from there. Frank Wright and Eli Reed each intercepted a Husky pass as the varsity Vikings pushed their season record to 3-0 with its second consecutive shut-out victory.  Next up for Viking football--JV on the road next Monday at Aurora Jewel.
