This one goes out to Mr. Barabasz! It was big weekend for the 7th grade girls’ basketball team. Despite being shorthanded, the girls battled and got their revenge against Kaneland on Friday winning in a thriller by three points. Elle Larson led the team with her leadership and half court heaves, Mekdes Geary was a beast on the boards, and Sophia Broderick and Lillian Hallahan knocked down key shots.
The following day the team ran out of gas but gave it 100 percent to the finish. Larson made it to the quarterfinals in the three-point contest while Adelaide Evans and Bridget Hecker were named to the All-Tournament team. Chloe Judd and Emily Beaupre were key contributors as well.
