Last night, the Viking varsity football team took on arch-rival Rotolo Middle School in the final game of the 2023 season. The Viking running game was punishing from the start. Kai Vanderploeg, Alvin Phan, Calan Web and Esaiah Torres all scored on the ground. Henry Winterhalter ran back a punt-return for a score, and quarterback Gavin Skinner added a touchdown pass to Vanderploeg. Defensively, the Vikings smothered the Bulldog offense. Ryne Lorenz intercepted a pass early in the game to set the tone and Tyler Alcaraz forced a late fumble to crush a Rotolo drive. Final score of the game: 42-8. Congratulations to every member of the varsity team for an impressive team victory and a great season! Pizza party today after school in the North contest gym.
