VIking Spotlight: Eric Schulget

Eric Schulget

At Geneva High School, Learning Behavior Specialist Eric Schulget brings learning to life for students. Since joining the Geneva 304 family in August 2022, Mr. Schulget has woven a rich tapestry of US history and government, pre-algebra, and algebra 1A, igniting young minds with the flames of knowledge and curiosity. The highlight of his role is the vibrant interaction with students—be it a casual chat in the bustling hallways, occasionally joining them in the cafeteria at lunch, or offering a listening ear and guidance through the labyrinth of academia and life's myriad challenges.

Mr. Schulget is nominated this year for 2024 Kane County Educator of the Year in the category of Early Career Educator.
Throughout the year, Mr. Schulget’s passion for disc golf takes flight as he traverses the Midwest with a close-knit band of friends, competing in 10-15 tournaments each year. In the summer, he takes his passion to Wisconsin's serene lake life, a respite from the frenzy of the academic year.

Mr. Schulget wants parents to know that what he loves about District 304 is the community’s close-knit spirit. “Our district has such a small-town feeling to it. There have been numerous occasions where students achieved awards based on academics or athletics,” he said. “When this occurs, the WHOLE school will often meet in the Commons, with the band playing music, and everyone celebrates these students.”

Mr. Schulget has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master of arts in teaching from Northern Illinois University.
