From the Sports Desk:

Last night, the South Viking track team faced off against their rivals from North at Geneva High School. Teagan Lee broke the girls' long jump record of 15'6.5' set way back in 1984 (before either of her coaches was born)! Isabella Beltz set a personal best in the 100-meter dash and Alexis Gross ran a strong 800 meters to take second in the event. For the boys, Kyle Heller set a blistering personal record in the 400 meters, Will Lang turned in his best mile of the season, Matt Meyer leapt to victory in the triple jump, and Amari Woods made his running debut in the 100 meter dash. Up next for Viking track—the Wohlhuter invitational Friday night at St. Charles East High School. Reminder there is no track practice today and tomorrow’s practice is only for those athletes participating in the Wohlhuter invitational.  A list of those students will be posted outside of Mr. Semprott’s room by noon today.

The varsity boys’ volleyball team scored a two-set win last night against Herget in their last home game of the year! Miguel Serrato played a strong game in the front row and had an awesome kill that was a missile to the back row in the 1st set. Harrison Egan served well with a 5 serving points in a row and had some strong passes in the back row.

The JV team also took down the Huskies in three sets. The team was missing several players, so people had to step up. Jack Nitschke got some clutch points in the front row and did not miss a serve all night! Kellen Connelly also had a strong game in the back row and had an excellent spike for a kill that energized his team. Good wins from both teams!
