Attention Gamers: your gaming club t-shirt order form is due today.  Remember; you can turn it into the main office or Mr. Rhea.

The Conservation Club distributed small green or blue recycling bins to each team center.  Please use these bins to recycle markers, pens, mechanical pencils, and empty glue sticks.  Due to our recycling endeavors last year, the club was able to redeem points we had earned to help fund charitable events like providing drinking water to people in need and protecting an acre of rainforest.

What do Jolly Ranchers wrappers, Blow-pop wrappers, pencil shavings, and Kleenex all have in common?  They are all items that should go in the trash, not the recycling bin.  Putting wrong things in the recycling bins means that nothing in there actually gets recycled.   The Conservation Club put signs in each classroom to promote the correct disposal of recycling and trash items.   Please use these to dispose of waste properly.

From the Sports Desk:

Monday night, the varsity Viking football team played host to the Foxes of Yorkville Middle School in a non-conference matchup. Kyler Vanderploeg scored for the Vikings early in the first half, and the defense, led by the outstanding line play of Alex Menchaca, tenacious coverage by Miles Merservy, and solid play by newly converted linebacker Henry Winterhalter, looked to be on track for another dominating performance, but the Foxes rallied and proved too much for the Vikings on this day, walking away with a 34-6 victory. The Vikings will finish their season next Thursday on the road against Batavia Rotollo.

Last night was a great day to be a SOUTH Viking! The 7th grade girls’ volleyball teams traveled to North with winning on their minds. 7A Volleyball dominated in their game against North last night. They were not about to lose this year! The Stachowicz twins are a force on the floor. Ellie served up some aces and got some amazing saves! Ryen took it to North with some great kills. Hayden Sala played great winning a critical joust at the net. Amazing job, girls.  The B team came out sluggish in the first set but Coach Mack lit a fire inside them with one of her inspirational speeches. Ava Benjamin and Molly Barber led the team to victory as captains. Bella Frye and Caramia Cronin's serves were too hot for North to handle. Alina Yi and Avery Maier were forces on the court diving and sliding for every ball.
