From the drama desk: The sixth-grade play cast worked hard last week. Tegan "Reliable" Riach never missed an entrance or a cue. Caroline "Santa" Klaus gifted us all with her outstanding stage presence and creepy Grumplegrapeskin voice. Lilli Hungerman was our only crew member at the beginning of the week, and we let her cook. You will be able to see her amazing props and our phenomenal actors at the play in just a few weeks. Mark your calendar for October 20th and 21st at 7 pm.
Please join Ms. Mack for a “Halloween Cook-tacular” on October 24th or 26th in the FACS room. Students will only sign up for one of the dates. You will be cooking fall themed foods like pumpkin bread and spider cookies! The cost is $10 and permission slips can be picked up in the main office.
This week is Banned Book Week, and it celebrates your freedom to read. Get on the BANNED WAGON! Stop by the library and check out our display which spotlights attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. While you are there, take a guess in our contest featuring a Banned Book.

The Conservation Club distributed small green or blue recycling bins to each team center. Please use these bins to recycle markers, pens, mechanical pencils, and empty glue sticks. Due to our recycling endeavors last year, the club was able to redeem points we had earned to help fund charitable events like providing drinking water to people in need and protecting an acre of rainforest.
What do Jolly Ranchers wrappers, Blow-pop wrappers, pencil shavings, and Kleenex all have in common? They are all items that should go in the trash, not the recycling bin. Putting wrong things in the recycling bins means that nothing in there actually gets recycled. The Conservation Club put signs in each classroom to promote the correct disposal of recycling and trash items. Please use these to dispose of waste properly.
