Calling all 6th graders! You
are invited to Trek for Boys or Trek for Girls on Saturday, November 3rd. This is a day of fun-filled games, activities, and
discussions with the purpose of sharing strategies to navigate the ups and
downs of middle school: stress, friendships, social media, gaming,
& more. High schoolers will even be there to answer questions and
share tips. Please ask your parent to register you before registration
closes tomorrow at tricityfamilyservices.org. Or just google “trek for boys or girls in Geneva”.
The chess club has its first match at GMSN against St. Charles this Thursday
after school. See Miss Swiderski for more information in room 110 (8White) if you didn’t receive an email.
Science Club, your next meeting is not until
November 1st. There is no
meeting for the South students on Thursday. Repeat, there is NO Science Club
meeting for South students this week.
We are halfway through Red Ribbon Week! Keep bringing your non-perishable food donations to your team center collection boxes all this week. The bulletin board in the lobby is tracking which team has brought in the most food items – so take a look to see how your team is doing. 8W is still in the lead. Also, the library will waive $1 in fines for every can of food you bring in, up to $5! Student Council and LEO’s club members, don’t forget that you will meet first thing after school this Friday to help pack all the food collected.
Spirit Week’s theme tomorrow is Mix and Match Day. And Friday is Geneva Spirit Day.
And Don’t miss Student Council’s First Annual Halloween Movie Night on Friday after school in the library. Concessions will be sold during the movie and all proceeds will support Red Ribbon Week! Remember, you must have a ride or take the 5:30pm activity bus home afterward.
THIS FRIDAY during all lunch periods will be Picture Retake Day! If you didn’t have your picture taken at the beginning of the school year, you should have already received a new picture order form from the office. If
not, come see me, Mrs. Hamilton, today.
Also, don’t forget that it’s still SOCK-tober and Student Council still needs your help! If you haven’t already brought in a new pair of socks to donate to the less fortunate in our community, there is still plenty of time.
And don’t forget, when you drop off your donation in the library, be sure to enter the drawing to win a $20 gift card!
