Did you know 100,000 marine creatures and 1 million sea birds die from the plastic we dump into the oceans each year?  Mrs. Brady and her 6W students want to change this sad statistic.  Did you also know you can't recycle markers that don't work anymore through the city recycling program?  Well good news!  The Crayola ColorCycle program will recycle them and reuse them, we just need to collect them.  Look for a student-designed poster in your team center with a donation box.  Any brand and any type of marker can be donated. Markers can also be brought in from home.  Thank you for helping to make a difference.

This Friday, the library will be hosting Star Wars Bingo!  Students can win prizes and a Fine Forgiveness Dollar for stopping by.  And remember, all library books and fines are due by Tuesday May 28th.

Do you have old pairs of eyeglasses cluttering up a drawer? Keys that don’t open or start anything? Empty ink cartridges that you just don’t know what to do with? Or how about really old mobile phones that don’t even have a charger anymore? Good news – you can donate those items to the Leo’s Club, and they will recycle them for you! All items that are collected will help fund programs for the visually- and hearing-impaired right here in Illinois.

Keep bringing in Pop Top Tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities. You can put them in the boxes in the cafeteria or bring them to Ms. Beyer in 6Blue. Our donations will help Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for families of children receiving treatment from a nearby hospital.
