Chess
Club is also meeting today after school but at North.
Attention 7th and 8th graders, the 7th and 8th grade dance is coming up next week Friday, March 15th from 6:30-8. Why not stay after school and go bowling with your friends! If you’re interested in coming bowling before the dance, pick up a permission slip from the main office. It’s only $7 per student! Permission slips are due tomorrow!
Do you think you know which teacher has been to Africa or who has an odd collection? Come to the library during lunch today and play a game of Kahoot with us while you eat your lunch. Teachers, game on! There’s a prize for you if you win as well.
Tomorrow is a Clean-Sweep Friday, so plan to get here at 8:10 to work on that locker. You know you need to….
The
collection drive for Anderson Animal Shelter continues this week! Every student that donates an item from the
list can be entered into a drawing to be my co-announcer for a morning! If that doesn’t sound like fun to you, that’s okay, but it would be awesome if you brought in a donation anyway!
Tomorrow is Viking Spirit Day – how blue can you go?
Then, bring that Viking Spirit and a book to the library during lunch tomorrow and ‘Read with Rover’. Enjoy a relaxing lunch while reading with a comfort dog.
From the Sports Desk:
Attention all current 7th-graders who would like to play football next
year for GMS. There is a team meeting today after school in Coach Sempsrott’s room 113.
The meeting will last until 4:25, if you do not have a ride home you can
take the 4:30 bus home. Please bring your school computer to the meeting. If you were on the Conference Championship
team this year and will not be able to attend the meeting, then please email
Coach Sempsrott and Coach Lane.
Be the Hammer!!
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team played Kaneland at Waubonsee Community College last night, and the Vikings left with two degrees, a Bachelors of Domination and a Masters of Hustle. Erin Slagle was the valedictorian of the
team. Her offensive rebounding and put
backs help the A team to a 40-17 victory.
Abbey McMillian and Maddy Ptak's passing was as easy as throwing the frisbee in the quad. Their passes led to some easy baskets which gave the B team the win. Take your hats off girls
and throw them in the air. Great job
with the regular season.
