Dec. 30, 2020
We hope that you are having a wonderful Winter Break.
Today, our COVID-19 Planning Task Force reviewed the local data on COVID-19 within our Geneva CUSD 304 school community and are thankful to report that, as planned, we are in a position to welcome students and staff back to our schools for in-person hybrid and remote learning formats on Monday, Jan. 4. We are grateful to the community for following health & safety protocols these past couple weeks, positioning us for this return.
We will review the data regularly to help guide our decision-making process, and ask that you continue to report COVID-related cases to us, as it helps us with decision-making. Please call your school’s attendance line during Winter Break if:
- Your child or anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation; OR
- Your child is a close contact to a confirmed case/has been told to quarantine.
Please also remember the 3 Ws and continue to practice them: Wear a Mask. Wash Your Hands. Watch Your Distance. Keeping people safe is very important and helps us continue hybrid in-person education.
We look forward to welcoming students back next Monday. Thank you for your continued grace and partnership. We wish you a safe and happy new year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kent Mutchler, Superintendent
Taylor Egan, Board of Education President
Kevin Gannon, GEA President
Leeann Enneking, GSSA President
