Geneva School District 304 News Article

10/07/2020

Attention all 7th and 8th graders! Are you interested in becoming a Geneva Vikings Cheerleader?  Cheer season is coming up and Ms. Regan is excited to prepare you for high school and 8th grade cheer.  This year is different than any other, but that won’t stop us from improving our skills!   Sign up in the cafeteria during your lunch period starting today and see Ms. Regan in room 153 for an information packet and any questions.

7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball and wrestling (which is open to all grade levels) starts on Monday, October 19th. Even though there will be no games or matches, plan on improving your skills and having lots of fun! Look for more information on the athletic website, 8 to18, and register before the start of the season.

REMEMBER, IF YOU’RE GOING TO JOIN CHEER, BASKETBALL OR WRESTLING, YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT SPORTS PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH THE OFFICE BEFORE YOU CAN START THE SEASON. IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, FEEL FREE TO STOP IN THE OFFICE TO FIND OUT.

You can still sign up for Viking Gamer Club this week!  Permission slips are available in the main office and with Mr. Rhea in Room 140.  The first meeting will be next week on Wednesday October 14th / Thursday October 15th, so make sure that you are signed up!

So, what's up with that table in the library with the balloons on it?  Well I'm glad you asked - it's where you go to sign up for the Variety Show.  Share your talent in the first show of the school year!  Open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders!  Auditions will be taking place next week, after school, beginning on Tuesday.  You can also sign up in the cafeteria during lunch today.  See Mr. Japlon in 7 White (or email Mr. Japlon) with any questions.

There is still time to sign up for the Crochet Intramural  and the Harry Potter Intramural.  Permission slips are available in the main office and will be due this Friday.

Chess Club will meet virtually on a Teams meeting from home from 4:15-5:15 on October 15th! You will play chess virtually. This will allow you to meet friends from both A and B days and from GMS North.  More information will be on the TEAMS after school doc this week. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Swiderski.
