Only 2 more days until this year's Variety Show takes the stage.  Come see the show that earned 2 thumbs up from Siskel and Ebert. Showtimes are this Friday and Saturday at 7pm.  Don't miss the most entertaining show of the year.

 

GMSS is collecting new and unused toys for the Holiday Toy Drive! GMSS Student Council has been donating toys to Lutheran General Hospital for five years! You can bring all books and toys to the designated box in your team center by Friday, December 17th. Due to germs, all items must be new and unused and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.

 

If you're interested in learning about how different cultures celebrate the holidays while making some crafty ornaments, come join Social Studies Club.  We'll meet this Monday in Mr. Fader's room until 4:20. All are welcome!

 

The 7th grade boys’ basketball A team played their final home game last night against their Northern rivals.   South jumped out to a lead and never looked back.  David Udiowood and Mason Breusch led South in scoring with 10 points and Tate Beran had a great stat line of 7 points and 5 fouls.  The 7th grade A team earned the 1 seed in the conference tournament with their undefeated regular season!  

 

The 7th grade boys’ basketball B team had a historic performance last night, defeating Geneva Middle School North by a score of 46-4.  Playing with an intensity rarely seen at the middle school level, your Vikings held their neighbors to the north scoreless for the entire second half.  Leading the scoring for the Vikings was Sam Cervenka, who scored 13 points, including three 3 pointers.  Noah Hallahan, also known as Big Noah, scored 9 points, followed by Ellis Dziadus and Nick Norkus, who both chipped in 6 points.  Quinn Hood played masterful defense, forcing many a turnover, while Cooper Black, Lucas Burghardt, Noah Kettlewell (also known as Lil' Noah), and Ryder (Hollywood) Krempin each scored 2 points.  Jack Higgins, known for his improbable rebounds and incredible hustle, scored 4 points.

The B squad ends the regular season with a share of first place, with a record of 7-1.  The conference tournament begins next week so wish your Vikings good luck as they begin their quest for a tournament championship!
