Don’t forget, Student Council will meet on December 7th after school in Miss Mack’s room for cookie decorating, hot cocoa, and a chance to win some prizes with holiday Kahoots! 

 

Tonight, the Variety Show takes the stage! Come watch the many talented kids here at South in the most entertaining show of the year! Showtimes are at 7pm both tonight and tomorrow night.

 

GMSS is collecting new and unused toys for the Holiday Toy Drive! GMSS Student Council has been donating toys to Lutheran General Hospital for five years! You can bring all books and toys to the designated box in your team center by Friday, December 17th. Due to germs, all items must be new and unused and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.

 

If you're interested in learning about how different cultures celebrate the holidays while making some crafty ornaments, come join Social Studies Club.  We'll meet this Monday in Mr. Fader's room until 4:20. All are welcome!

 

Be sure to stop by Science Club on Tuesday December 7th at North in Mrs. Benjamins room 121 after school until 4:20. Join us as we will be taking a closer look at fingerprinting. 

 

A North/South run club will be available to students on Wednesdays after school beginning on December 8. In order to participate, you must submit a permission form and small payment. Forms and more info are available in the main office.

 

7th/8th grade Girls Basketball Tryouts will take place the Monday and Tuesday after break. Get registered online and be sure to have a current physical on file in the main office. Get this done before winter break so you don't forget!

 

A new dance team intramural, combined with North, will host tryouts on January 20 and 21. The dance team will learn choreographed routines and perform at basketball games. Register online and have a physical on file in the main office. More information will be available in the main office and the athletic website.

 

And in wrestling, the Vikings traveled to Aurora Jefferson. Joey “Take Down” Torrence was at it again making short work of his opponent, while Eliana Driesbach secured her first win in a 7-3 decision. Elijah O’Donnell also put on a spectacle as he won his match decisively in the first found. On varsity, Ashton Zimmer got his first win with a front headlock, and Nathan Leak continued to impress by using his signature “Butcher” move to tenderize his opponent into the mat. Quinn “The Sure Pin” Hogan is making wins by pinfall a matter of routine as he decidedly won another match. David Zickus pinned his opponent with a gritty half-nelson to ensure his victory. Finally, Nate Garlock kept his winning ways by doing his Harry Houdini impression with 3 escapes in his match.
