Bye, Bye, Bye! That's what the South Cross-Country Team was saying to Aurora last night as they busted out the brooms and completed the clean sweep.  The girls led things off in dominant fashion as the Vikings covered the first ten places in the meet posting a perfect score of 15.  The girls were led by Mira Meyers, who brought home her second first place finish of the year.  Avery Edison had one of her best races of the year, and big shout out to Madison Stinger and Margaret Anthony as the two zoomed past some Aurora runners in the final kick.  The boys followed suit with another perfect score of 15.  Griffin Poterek dominated and brought home the individual victory.  Marco Van Rensburg and Matthew Lemke continue to be team leaders as the two posted great races in their last home cross country meet at South.  Congrats to all the participants on a dominant performance.  The Vikings will close out their season on Monday against West Chicago.

Last night, the varsity Viking football team traveled to Aurora to take on the Jefferson Middle School J-Hawks in their final conference game of the season. After falling behind early in the first half, the Viking offense struck back when Ben Peterson connected with Bennet Konkey for a touchdown.  After giving up a touchdown in the second half and with the J-Hawks threatening again, Hugh Karlson recovered a Jefferson fumble. In the closing minutes of the game, Geneva drove into the J-Hawk red zone, but turned the ball over on downs, falling to Jefferson by a final score of 14-6. Next up for Viking football: Varsity takes on Yorkville at home on Monday.

A BIG congratulations to the 7th grade girls’ B volleyball team that got 2nd place in the conference tournament last night!! They had to get through Aurora Washington and Thompson to make it to the championship game and though Rotolo snagged the win, everyone had a fantastic week and coach Mack and coach Shanel couldn’t be more proud! Way to go Vikings!!!”

Today for our music students, it is a choir day!
