Chess Club will meet tomorrow after school in Miss Swiderski’ s room, 153! Have a ride by 4:20 or take the activity bus! Happy Chess!

 

Math Club will meet again tomorrow after school in Mrs. Gain’s room 122 at North! Join for a fun scavenger hunt around the building!

 

Viking Gamer Club for 7th & 8th graders is meeting Friday from 3:30-5:20. Come level up your gameplay before fall break!

 

Creative Writing Club’s will meet at South in room 265 tomorrow afterschool. Contact Ms. Riley if you have any questions.

 

FCA will meet again Friday at North. Meet in the downstairs collaborative learning space at 7:45 AM for fun, fellowship, and donuts!

 

GMSS will be collecting new and unused toys for the Holiday Toy Drive! GMSS Student Council has been donating toys to Lutheran General Hospital for five years! You can bring all books and toys to the designated box in your team center by Friday, December 17th. You can purchase a great selection of books at the Scholastic Book Fair this week! Due to germs, all items must be new and unused and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.

 

The 7th grade boys’ basketball A team traveled to Wredling for their 6th game of the season.  Jackson Snider started the game with some fireworks as he scored 6 of his 12 points in the 1st quarter.  John Tweed joined in the party going from red to green as he scored 12 in the game.  Ben Peterson saw the show and looked to change the color in the sky from red to yellow, as he hit a big three and the Vikings won by double digits for the 6th straight game.  The Vikings take on Rotolo at home on Thursday! 

 

The 7th grade boys’ basketball B team suffered their first defeat of the season last night, losing by a score of 30-26 to the Wredling Redhawks.  Leading the way for the Vikings was Nick Norkus with 8 points, including a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line.  Noah Hallahan scored five points, which included a nice 3-point play, while Quinn Hood chipped in 4 points in the losing effort.  The Vikings will look to get back on track on Thursday against the Rotolo Bulldogs.

 

The 8th grade boys’ basketball B squad battled back from a huge deficit to cut the lead to four in the second half but couldn’t pull through with the win. Nolan Shockey hit a big bucket and was all over the court and Logan Novay all scorers with another big offensive and defensive game. 

 

The 8th grade boys’ basketball North vs South game takes place at the high school at 4:15 today! Come support your team! There will be giveaways for students!
