GMSS will be collecting new and unused toys for the Holiday Toy Drive! GMSS Student Council has been donating toys to Lutheran General Hospital for five years! You can bring all books and toys to the designated box in your team center by Friday, December 17th. You can purchase a great selection of books at the Scholastic Book Fair this week! Due to germs, all items must be new and unused and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.

For our music students, today is choir day!

And the streak continues!! The 7th grade boys’s basketball A team took on the Bulldogs at home and continued their winning ways.  Ben Peterson proved too much to handle scoring 11 points to lead the Vikings in scoring.  Jackson Snider’s scored 8 and Mason Breusch and John Tweed chipped in with 6 points apiece.   The Vikings have 1 more regular season game left against North.  Great job Vikings!

The 7th grade boys’ basketball B squad completed the sweep of Rotolo last night with a dramatic 25-22 victory!  The Vikings defense was suffocating, and their players showed a grittiness rarely seen.  Displaying tremendous effort, passion, and hustle, the Vikings were able to hold off what was a previously undefeated Bulldogs squad.  Nick Norkus scored all five points for the Vikings in the fourth quarter, including the game winner.  Nick led the way with 10 points while Sam Cervenka and Quinn Hood chipped in 4 points each.  Also scoring in the game were Kaleb Smith, Lucas Burghardt, and Noah Hallahan.  Last up on the conference slate is a matchup against our foes from the North on Tuesday, November 30.  Let's pack the stands for what should be a great game!

The 8th grade A boys basketball team traveled to the dog pound last night.  It looked for a while like the Vikings might be able to keep the bulldogs on a short leash but in the 2nd half, Batavia pulled away.

Special shout out to the one and only Ms. Shanel. There weren’t any burgers dropped last night; however, the South 8th grade boys’ basketball b squad is saving all their 3 burgers for the post season tournament. After a busy week of hoops, the boys lost a tough one last night.  Preston Wolf and Henry Boracca were and one machines and Zach Teusink was all over the boards and making some nice dishes.
