Can you believe it’s finally here?! Today and tomorrow are auditions for the 6th grade play in the cafeteria after school. You can still sign up for an audition date and pick up an audition packet from the main office or the table in the 6 Blue Team Center next to Ms. Poppen’s office. See Mr. Tatar or Ms. Poppen for more information.

 

Stop by the library from 8:00-8:30 before school tomorrow to check out the Activity Fair! You will be able to see all the exciting clubs and activties that are planned for this year! 

 

 

Do you like to draw and paint? Art club is for you! Students will design and create their own Art projects and put on an Art show. All students are invited. Permission slips are in the art room and in the main office. 

 

It's time to level up your gameplay with the return of Viking Gamer Club.  Viking Gamer Club is back with the plan to meet on Fridays after school.  With a new space to hangout and new games, this is something no gamer wants to miss!  You can pick up a club sign-up form from the main office or from Mr. Rhea in Room 140.  All sign-up forms must be completed and returned to the office by Friday, September 10th.

 

Are you interested in playing a match of chess? Come join Geneva Middle School’s Chess Club! We will have snacks after school in Geneva Middle School South’s library and play 2 matches against an opponent! Chess club meets Thursday in South’s library from 3:30-4:25. All members must have a ride home or take the activity bus! If you have any questions please let Miss Swiderski know! See you there!

 

Viking Voices begins tomorrow morning!  Rehearsal starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the choir room.  Please come prepared with a pencil, and make sure your parents have submitted the participation fee.  See you then!

 

It was a North vs South battle last night in the contest gym. In the A game, Lyla Folden dominated the court with her serves and saves! Letti Klein protected the net and kept us in the game! Though south was not able to pull out the W, everyone played hard! The B game was an exciting one to watch and ended in a south victory in 3 matches. Natalie Brown didn’t let anything by her and showed great leadership on the court. Ada Nessling’s serves were untouchable and got us the game winning point! Amazing games all around!

 

8th Grade Volleyball played a tough game against North last night. Both “A” and “B” lost despite outstanding play from Alexa Cosky and Savannah Nicely. Good games, girls! 

 

Last night, the Generals of Washington Middle School marched north to take on your Geneva Vikings in the second junior varsity game of the season. After charging out to a 14-0 halftime lead, the Vikings held off an intense Washington rally in the second half to come away with a 20-14 victory.  Alex Abraham led the Vikings with two scores, including a 95-yard touchdown, Ben Raby added a third, and Sam Cervenka and Zach Benshoof each recovered a fumble to lead the Viking defense. Next up for the Vikings: Varsity on the road against Washington on Wednesday afternoon.
