After a near two year absence, the Geneva Middle School Viking junior varsity football program opened its 2021 season on the road at Wredling Middle School. After trading scores with the Redhawks throughout the first half, the Vikings found themselves down by a touchdown with less than two minutes to play. With the Redhawks driving, threatening to put the game on ice, the Viking defense came up with a huge defensive stop and the offense marched down the field to score, ending the game in a 26-26 tie. The Vikings were led offensively by Alex Abraham's 3 rushing touchdowns. Ben Raby added another on a rambling 70 yard run. Defensively, Ryder Krempin and Sam Cervenka both forced drive-ending turnovers.
The Viking varsity team opens its season this Thursday afternoon at Geneva High School.
