The boys’ cross-country team defeated both Kaneland and Sycamore last night.  Running in the top 5 for Geneva were Dom Stolarik who placed first, Wyatt Gross who was second and then Lorcan Duffy, Chase Sorrentino and Robby Youngquist who were all in the top 10 of the race.  The team has their last home meet of the year tomorrow at Peck Farm.

Yesterday, both 7th grade volleyball teams came out strong against North for their final regular season game. The A team was led by Molly Brown with strong net play, and strong serves from Addy Kling. Sadly, they fell just short of victory. For the B team, Lily McConnell and Kate Shanahan helped their team with strong passing and teamwork. Lillian Hallahan led her team with a seven-point scoring run to lead “B” to victory!

Last night, the 8th Grade Viking football team battled the Spartans of Sycamore in their final game of the 2019 season. The offense dominated the game from the first play, scoring quickly on a quarterback sweep by Nate Stempowski. Charlie Winterhalter halted the Spartans first drive when he recovered a fumble and returned it 45 yards for the Vikings second score.  The Vikings would add two more first half touchdowns, one on a Stempowski pass to fullback Jacob Black and another when tight end Rocco DiLeonardi caught a Stempowski pass and rambled 50 yards for a score. Throughout the whole game, the Viking defense completely shut down the Spartan offense. Eli Curry picked off a Spartan pass deep in Viking territory to halt a dangerous Sycamore drive. Rocco DiLeonardi contributed three blocked passes, Johnny Vargo dominated the defensive line and Smiling Jack Matthews came up big on special teams.  Nate Stempowski would cap the night with a 65-yard rushing touchdown as the Vikings cruised to a 38-0 victory to finish the season at 5-1.

Coach Lane and Coach Sempsrott want to thank the team for an amazing two-year run. Be the Hammer!
