From
the Sports Desk
The 8th grade A team was tougher than nails last
night against Batavia Gold. After some NBA threes from Batavia early, the
Vikings hung with it and put on a show in the second half. Max Keller,
aka, Mr. Postseason had a sweet "And 1 Mix Tape" lay-up and knocked
down some big threes to finish with 12 points. Colin Sprague was a
monster on the offensive boards, and the team defeated Batavia Gold to move
onto the semi-finals against number 1 seed Yorkville. Way to go!
The 8th grade B team was trending on Twitter
last night as they took down the 2 seed Thompson. You'll have to open up GoogleMaps on your
phone to find out the exact location Drew Peters knocked his 3-pointer from
because it was far away from the hoop.
It was great team play that helped the Vikings team swipe left against
Thompson to bring on the new opponent. Next icalendar event is the semifinals.
The 7th Grade B Team emerged victorious last
night in a thriller versus Geneva Middle School North, winning by a score of
20-17. Your Vikings were led by Peyton Friedman, who scored 8
points. Bryce Adams scored 7, including a huge 3 pointer to put South
ahead with less than a minute left in the game, while Christian Novay chipped
in 5 points. The win was a true team effort as all 12 players made major
contributions. The Vikings are back at it today at 4:15 against the Wredling
Redhawks. Come out and support your classmates as they try to extend
their winning streak and hand Wredling their first loss of the season. Go
Vikings!
