Our first home meet is tomorrow vs. STC-Thompson!
The 7th Grade A boys’ basketball team traveled to Herget yesterday and left with a victory. The Vikings played tough
defense, led by Jayden Hodgdon and Mac Moore, and held their opponents to 21
points. Ethan Gronberg led all Vikings with 15 points followed by, Anish Buddaraju’s 6points, and Drew Conley and Timmy Adkins 5 points. Next on the
schedule is a Viking home game against Thompson on Tuesday.
The
7th Grade Boys Basketball B Team split their two games this week, with a tough
loss to Wredling and a convincing win against Aurora Herget. In their defeat to Wredling, the Vikings were
paced by Bryce "Spice" Adams, who scored 10 points. Other top contributors were Christian Novay
with 7 points and Peyton Friedman with 6.
In the blowout win versus Herget in which all players made major
contributions, the Vikings were once again led by Adams, who led all scorers
with 13 points. Novay and Robby
Youngquist each scored 5 points. The
Vikings hope to build upon this win when they take on the Thompson Titans next
Tuesday.
The
cheerleaders were in full force and the house was packed as the 8th grade A
team took on Aurora last night. After a ten-point deficit at the half,
the boys pushed through some adversity and battled all the way back for an
impressive come from behind win, defeating Aurora 35-27. It was a total
team effort on defense as the boys held Aurora to 7 points in the second half
and flew the W for the first home game.
Did
you attend last night's magic show in the contest gym? Lots of people came out to watch. You would have seen some amazing tricks like
Adam Close putting the basketball in the hoop before 2 seconds went off the
clock, or Cam Sexton's no-look, behind the head pass that lead to a lay-up.
These were just some of the magic tricks the 8th grade B team displayed. The
grand finale was not pulling a rabbit out of their hat, but a 30-point victory
against Aurora.
Good luck to
our 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders at their showcase
tonight! Go Vikings!
