Tips for Connecting With Us

Email Troubleshooting

The District uses several tools to stay in touch with its community, including email. Depending on your email service, some communications may "get lost" in folders other than your Inbox. Many services employ different filters or algorithms that direct emails into certain folders. Because these services are always changing, the District recommends several suggestions to "train" your email service to recognize trusted senders.

Please follow these troubleshooting tips to direct emails from the District to your preferred Inbox:
  • All email services: Add the email address of the sender to your Address Book or Contacts List.
  • Gmail: If you find an email in your Junk, Clutter, Promotions, or folder other than your Primary Inbox, left-click and hold on the email, then drag it from its existing tab into the Primary Inbox tab.
  • Gmail directions
  • Microsoft Outlook: If you find an email in your Junk, Clutter, or Spam folder, right-click the email and select Junk > Not Junk.
  • Hotmail: Add the sender's email address to your list of Hotmail contacts.
  • Yahoo Mail: Click the email that was wrongfully treated as junk mail to open it. Click the "Not Spam" button in the toolbox to immediately send the email  to the Inbox folder. Emails from the same sender will not be treated as junk mail anymore and will be sent to the Inbox folder.

Geneva 304 school and District calendars can be synced with your Google Calendar by following these instructions. This function allows you to "subscribe" to a calendar, which will be updated as events are changed.

  1. Visit this page from the device that you would like to sync this calendar to: Geneva School District 304 ical feeds (geneva304.org)
  2.  Under "Buildings/Sections," find the name of the calendar you want to sync and then under the name click on the link that says "Add To Your Google Calendar"
  3. Follow the instructions on your device for next steps
Don't use Google Calendar? You can still sync with the calendars by following these steps:
  1. Visit this page from the device that you would like to sync this calendar to: Geneva School District 304 ical feeds (geneva304.org)
  2.  Under "Buildings/Sections," find the name of the calendar you want to sync and then under the name click on the link that ends with .ics
  3. Follow the instructions on your device for next steps
