Mathematics is a universal language that allows us to make sense of and describe the world around us. In order to develop and enrich each student’s understanding of mathematics, Geneva High School will provide a comprehensive and well aligned mathematics curriculum in which topics are both explored and analyzed thoroughly.

Geneva High School’s math curriculum has a balanced emphasis on conceptual understanding, traditional algorithms, problem solving, and effective technology utilization while addressing learning standards created and adopted by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Illinois State Board of Education. intriguing situations and problems, ample opportunities for reflection and interaction, and connections to everyday life.

The classroom environment and instructional strategies in every mathematics classroom will provide a rich variety of cognitively appropriate activities and resources so that all students have opportunities to experience both success and challenge.
