MICROSOFT OFFICE SUITE

Prerequisite: None 
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 
Are you familiar with what Microsoft Office can do for you? Maximize your results when working with this powerful suite of programs with this in-depth, semester-long course. Learn hands-on what you can do with word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint). The course focuses on skills students should have whether planning for college readiness or the workplace.  At the conclusion of the course students will have the opportunity to earn professional Microsoft Office Specialist certifications.
 

ADVANCED MICROSOFT OFFICE SUITE

Prerequisite: Microsoft Office Suite 
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 
Students who have passed Microsoft Office Suite are encouraged to take Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.  In this course, we will go beyond the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel with a goal of earning the Microsoft Office Expert Certification in each.  This course will also dive into Microsoft Outlook with the goal of passing the Microsoft Office Specialist certification.

 

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT INTERNSHIP

Grade: 10, 11, 12

Course Fee: ~$30.00

The Technology Support Internship prepares students to provide first-line technical support to students, support staff and teachers. Using problem-based learning strategies, students are trained to listen, observe and assess general end-user issues. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, as well as process service tickets and inventory stock. Additionally, students will follow individualized career pathways of study that include customer service and leadership, MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist), and MTA (Microsoft Technical Associate), with the potential of other advanced options. This course may be repeated with instructor approval.
