Mr. Patrick L. Frederick

Mr. Frederick is proud to have been a member of the GHS Music Faculty since 1994. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Illinois State University in Normal, IL and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL. Before coming to Geneva, he taught in Beecher School District 200-U in Beecher, IL (grades 5-12 Band and General Music) from 1991-92, and also in Brookwood School District 167 in Glenwood, IL (grades 4-8 Band) from 1992-94. At GHS, Mr. Frederick currently conducts the Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Concert Band, and assists Mr. Shipton in Symphonic Band.  He also teaches Music Theory levels I & II. His extra-curricular ensembles include Jazz Band I and Pit Orchestra.

Mr. Frederick is also a graduate of Geneva High School (1984) and credits his high school band director, Hank Pinter, with a large part of his inspiration to become a music educator himself. He lives in St. Charles, IL with his wife, Shara (also a Geneva Band Director) and his two children, Connor and Molly.
