WOODWORKING I
Prerequisite: None
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Course Fee: ~ $115.00 Material Fee
Woodworking I students will experience what it would be like to work in the construction industry while learning technical skills. The course will demonstrate how to safely use power tools, machinery and wood finishing equipment. Students will work independently and participate in a group to construct a MISSION STYLE SOFA TABLE. They will develop and apply problem solving and decision-making abilities. The fee for this course will cover the cost of consumable materials.
WOODWORKING II
Prerequisite: Woodworking I
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Course Fee: ~ $180.00 Material Fee
In Woodworking II, students will build upon their experience and lessons learned in Woodworking I. Greater responsibility will be given to students in setting up specific equipment and jigs used to construct their projects. Students will construct a MISSION STYLE COFFEE TABLE WITH A GLASS TOP. The project is a matching piece that goes with the MISSION STYLE SOFA TABLE from Woodworking I. The fee for this course will cover the cost of consumable materials.
WOODWORKING III
Prerequisites: Woodworking II
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Course Fee: ~$90 Material Fee (Mission Style End Table)
Woodworking III students will work independently, under instructor supervision, in making a MISSION STYLE END TABLE. The project builds upon lessons covered in Woodworking I and II, while additionally adding lumber selection and all equipment set-up. This project will complete a 3-piece matching set of furniture. Students enrolled in Woodworking III and IV in the same school year will be given the option of making a CRAFTSMAN STYLE LIBRARY TABLE, which will take the entire school year to complete. The fee for the Craftsman Style Library Table is $270. The fee for this course will cover the cost of consumable materials.
WOODWORKING IV
Prerequisites: Woodworking III
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Course Fee: $125 Material Fee (Chimney Cupboard)
Woodworking IV students will work independently, under instructor supervision, in making a CHIMNEY CUPBOARD. The project builds upon lessons covered in Woodworking I, II and III, while additionally following a construction time-table, lumber selection, all equipment and jig set-up and maintenance. Students enrolled in Woodworking III and IV in the same school year will be given the option of making a CRAFTSMAN STYLE LIBRARY TABLE, which will take the entire school year to complete. The fee for the Craftsman Style Library Table is $270. The fee for this course will cover the cost of consumable materials
