RECOGNITION, AWARDS, PRESENTATIONS, PUBLIC HEARINGS 
GHS Principal Tom Rogers presented the Tradition of Excellence award to the GHS Robotics Team (Robovikes) who won the State Championship: Luke Benshoof, Oak DeFrenza, Gwen Fronczak, Aiden Garafola, Daniel Godfrey, Aiden Grogan, Lou Hawkins, Eli Hayes, Noah Jackson, Jacob Jones, Kaylin Kusak, Liam Maloney, Liam Pott, Easton Pyfer, Michael Rice, Marilee Ruiz, Henry Totman, Logan VanDerMolen, David Vesga, Finn Wilson, and Hunter Witt.

August 24, 2026 Board Meeting Recap

RECOGNITION, AWARDS, PRESENTATIONS, PUBLIC HEARINGS 
The board conducted a public hearing for the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget led by Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Todd Latham.  Mr. Latham noted this is the final step in a lengthy process that concludes with formal approval of the budget by the Board and submission of the official budget documents to the Illinois State Board of Education.  (2:24-15:24).

RECOGNITION, AWARDS, PRESENTATIONS, PUBLIC HEARINGS 
Public Hearing (E-Learning Plan): (2:30 - 16:56) The board held a public hearing regarding the district's three-year e-learning plan. Superintendent Dr. Andy Barrett and Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Teaching Dr. George Petmezas explained that this plan serves as a requirement for utilizing e-learning days instead of emergency/snow days, emphasizing flexibility and instructional continuity.
